Expectations

With our piece being a psychological horror, there are a few things that the audience may expect from our piece. This includes drawn-out suspense, as well as a sense of normality that may accompany every day life. However, they will expect an antagonist to be revealed upon doing something horrifying, and a main protagonist, who usually prevails. We've accommodated to this expectation by focusing on creating suspense and mystery, however, we have broken typical expectations by making the antagonist and the protagonist the same character. This could have attracted an audience due to its interesting nature.

Identification

We tried to make our characters identifiable in order to attract our target audience. For example, we chose a home environment which the audience could identify is, which provides familiarity for the audience and allows them to become more involved with the media product. Similarly, we chose a fairly normal job for our main character, which a lot of the audience can identify with, as police people are always present.
