As a group, we discussed ideas for the plot of our horror film and its opening, and wrote them down. These are our rough ideas:

We discussed our subgenre and that it should rely on psychological horror with some gore. This is because it's easier to make a psychological horror, as we won't have to gather many materials in order to create visual gore.

We also talked about different plotlines we could use. We started off thinking about cannibalism, and how we could create a scene in which a person is creating dinner, and flashing back to a murder (which we will assume is the victim that is being cooked). I felt like this resembled the TV series Hannibal too much.

We then moved on to our idea of a puppet show. The film would somehow relate to this. A scene would be shown with puppets fighting Punch and Judy style, flashing to scenes of a murder (like our previous idea). This was a good contender, but we felt that it would require a lot of painstaking prop-making.

Our final idea was the one we are currently using, where the main character is the protagonist (a detective going after the antagonist) and the antagonist (dual personalities) without knowing. Our synopsis for this can be seen here.

We consistently discussed the use of masks, which will be present in our opening.
